Today is amazing!

So I’ve decided to put together a Katniss costume of her 74th Arena uniform. I bought the jacket already just because I liked it and then I bought the boots because I just liked them, too. Decided to just run with it and do the rest!

Well, the next big item was the pants. The ones used in the movie are from Lucky, but apparently it’s such an old style that they stopped selling them in stores and eventually sold out online. People can only get them on ebay, but you have to be lucky (dumbass pun not intended).

I called up the Lucky Brand store in Hollywood and described them to the lady there and she said she thinks she has them and put them on hold for me to try on. So I went up today, pretty much knowing this was going to be a fruitless endeavor. Even more so because I walked to the Metro station and everything which just tires me out and wastes time. But something told me to try this lead for the shiggles.

I get there and sure enough, the pair on hold aren’t the right ones, but damnit, they’re close. I was considering getting them as a back up when I just arbitrarily asked if they have other cargos and I showed her a picture of the ones I’m looking for on my Toshiba Pad. She shook her head and said, “Just those and theses ones here.” and she pointed to a rack right in front of me. I look at them and notice they’re full length at the bottom, not cuffed like they should be.

I was about to dismiss them when I noticed how perfect the pockets were and thought that they could be a good back up. It wasn’t until I was in the fitting room that I noticed the creases at the bottom where they used to cuff. I put them on, looked at my pictures on my Pad and sure enough, they’re the exact same style!!! And they happened to be 0’s! Still a bit baggy on me, but do-able.

Anyway, they were like the last of the last, so what used to be $80 they gave to me for $20 because they wanted to get rid of them. Seriously, what luck?! (omg, again with the dumbass pun)

So now I await my friend and we’ll be off to look for other items so we can do out arena photo shoot later this month!
